At first I was pretty happy with the product, I got OK reception, buttons were easy to use, etc. But whoever designed the antenna was out of their mind. The little suction cup gets stuck to tile surface without even trying and as a result after several attempts to pick up the radio the entire antenna snapped off. $50 to fix. I’ll think twice before buying a Sony product again.

This was a present for someone else, and I honestly don’t know how it has worked out for her. I’m assuming it’s fine.

We purchased this as a replacement for an earlier version of Sony shower radio, and didn’t realize it had a cd player also. Frankly, I can’t imagine EVER using the CD player…. Also, the CD player makes this bigger than it needs to be for our purposes and so we had to switch around shampoos, etc to make it fit. There is no “automatic off” feature, which we used to use all the time. Having the main buttons at the front, as opposed to the top, does make this easier to use, however.

The listing for this item indicates that it is a “clock radio”, which says to me that I should expect to be able to set at least one wake up alarm. The only alarm function on this radio is a timer, which allows you to set an alarm after a certain period of time has passed. It does have a clock, which you can use to tell the time, but you cannot set a traditional alarm. And it does have a radio, which is useful. But it is NOT a clock radio. I bought it to use on my sail boat, to play CD’s and radio, and for the weather band and water resistance features. But also thought that the alarm would be useful when camping or cruising on the boat. Guess I will still be relying on my watch for a wakeup alarm. The sound is about what you would expect from a small portable radio like this. It doesn’t distort too much as long as you keep the volume low. Radio reception seems better than average. The CD player is a bit primitive, but works well.
