I just received my RCR-22 and haven’t even plugged it in yet. It is advertised as an atomic clock radio but is it really? In looking at the manual and the box, I see nothing about “atomic clock.” It has a button to set to DST and then you can set it back to standard time. A true atomic clock would do this automatically.

Did I order the wrong clock? If so, I will return it and get a real atomic clock. Can someone who owns one help me on this?

To easy to push wrong button in the dark. Do not appreciate bright lite comng on every time a station is changed or when the set is turned off or on. Why not a mono instead of a stereo jack Good design but AM reception 90 miles away not the best.

It tells time and is a radio. “Atomic” clock function apparently does not work where I live. That was one of the reasons for my purchase. Another reason was the touted radio function. No equalizer, just standard am-fm. Hoped it would pull in a few stations a bit better, but no luck. Lots of buttons with a single function, a few apparently with multiple functions. Really way overpriced in my opinion. Thought about keeping it anyway, but the more I thought about it I can get a much less expensive replacement. If I want to listen to music, I’ll go downstairs and crank up the Bose….

Update 8/14/07 – What do you know-the price went down! LOL

    Sangean atomic clock radio

Even after reading all the negative reviews, I decided to give this atomic clock a try as a gift for my husband. The light was way too bright, even on low. But after about 3 weeks, the whole thing just quit. Nothing worked. A total piece of junk.

I bought this for my 75 year old mother and she said the light from the display lit up her room and she could not fall asleep. There is no way to dim this light. I read reviews before I purchashed this radio that also complained about the light and I should have listened. This radio was returned.
