This unit had the same problem, no sound. I took it to a professional, and he did not read the installation book. There for he hooked up wires that I did not ( power antenna ) and made the unit work. 1 Hour labor #75.

To be fair, I really only got this system for the HD radio and the mp3 cd compatibility.

HD radio is pretty cool, despite my area not having a lot of stations. If I lived in a city, I’m sure it would be much more impressive. Like others said, it can be frustrating if you are on the verge of the broadcast or you are traveling, because it will switch back and forth between HD and FM.

MP3 cd compatibility works but…it’s not great. Navigating directories seems overly complicated and it takes a few seconds for the LCD to display track information. I’ve seen better systems made 5+ years ago that work better for MP3 cd’s than this one, but to be fair, this probably isn’t a feature most people use anyway.

For the price, it does what they say it does.

I had owned a previous Dual unit that had the auxiliary input, but i had managed to mess it up every time i would hammer through a corner causing my mp3 to fly and pull on the cable causing it to mess up the input.

So i bought this one, works great, the HD radio is a bonus, and now i’m going to take good care of my unit, i figured out a way of keeping the audio cable secured (so it doesn’t pull on it anymore), because i’ll probably still hammer through corners.

If it works as good as my old one, then its truly a good product.

I do wish it had the old USB port like my older one did. =/

another good use for the aux input, is that i can hook it up to my phone, and use my whole car as my phone.

which works out great, here in L.A.
